For listeners
+Why does Apple Music need a separate sign-in from my Apple ID?
Apple Music playback uses Apple's MusicKit JS, which has its own authorization layer separate from “Sign in with Apple.” If you connect Apple Music in Profile, you may be prompted twice — once for your Apple ID and once for an Apple Music–specific permission. Both are required for full-track playback in your browser.+Spotify says "Premium required" — why?
Spotify's Web Playback SDK only supports full-track streaming for Premium subscribers. Free Spotify accounts can browse and add tracks to a queue, but listening requires a Premium subscription. We don't get to pick that — it's Spotify's API rule.+I can't sign in with Apple on my iPad — what gives?
iPad Safari has a known issue with Sign in with Apple (Storage Partitioning clears session state between cross-origin redirects). Workaround: use the magic link sign-in option instead, which survives the redirect cleanly.+How many people can join a room?
Up to 50 on the free tier (1 host + 50 listeners). Creator unlocks 500, Venue 1,000, Unlimited is uncapped.+What does "drift" mean? Why does it sometimes resync?
The sync gap between host and listeners — we keep it under a second. If your phone falls behind, the app silently re-seeks to catch up.+My queue says "Needs YouTube URL" — what do I do?
Tracks need a YouTube fallback for listeners without that service connected. If the resolver couldn't find one, paste a YouTube URL in the queue row. It retries on every add, so most resolve on their own.+I'm the host. Can I take a break and come back?
Yes — your queue + listeners stay alive for 5 minutes while you're away (listeners can vote-skip meanwhile). After that, the room closes.+Listeners can't hear me on the mic — why?
The host enables the mic in room settings, and each listener grants browser permission. WebRTC tops out around 6 simultaneous speakers; past that, only the host's voice carries.+Something's broken. How do I report it?
Email support@silent-dj.app with: (1) the URL of the room you were in, (2) what you tried, (3) what happened, (4) the build SHA from the About page. Screenshots help. We answer within 24 hours on weekdays.
For venues
+What does a venue get out of Silent DJ?
Two new revenue lines on a show you're already producing: (1) a global stream pass — listeners anywhere pay to hear your show in sync; (2) link-outs to your existing ticket provider (Ticketmaster / DICE / Posh / Shotgun / Eventbrite / RA / SeeTickets / AXS / StubHub). No app to install. Just a URL.+How do I get paid?
Connect your Stripe Connect Express account at Account → Payments. Stream pass payments land in your Stripe balance directly; Silent DJ takes 8% as the platform fee. Real-ticket clicks bypass Silent DJ entirely — those payments go to your existing ticket provider per your contract with them.+How do I schedule a show?
Go to Venue. Tap "New show", set title + date + duration + pass price + capacity. Optional: paste a Ticketmaster / DICE / Posh / etc. URL for the real-world ticket. Save as draft, then publish when you're ready. Drafts stay private; published shows appear on /upcoming and the venue's discover shelf.+Stream pass vs. real ticket — which should I sell?
Both. Real tickets fill the room; stream passes extend to a global audience. A 1,000-capacity show + a stream pass reaches the next 49,999 listeners worldwide — virtual capacity is unlimited, marginal cost is near zero.+What about music licensing?
Your venue, your rights situation. Silent DJ doesn't clear PRO licenses on your behalf — same posture as your sound system. For artist-original sets, indie shows, comedy, podcasts: ship. For major-label catalog: in-room sound is covered by your existing licensing; the stream is a parallel question we're scoping — email venues@silent-dj.app.+What audio gear do I need?
Phase 1 (today): any USB audio interface that shows up to Chrome as a sound device. Plug your board's output into the interface, set Silent DJ to listen on that input via the in-room audio toggle. Phase 2 (coming): RTMP ingest from OBS/Wirecast/vMix for full broadcast pipelines, plus professional broadcast-feed mode for permanent installations.+Can I record the show?
Yes (Venue tier). The recording becomes the post-event replay — sell it to pass holders, give it free as a thank- you, or make it public. Recording policy is set per show when you schedule it. Replay sales pay out via the same Stripe Connect account.+Where are my analytics?
Per-show analytics ship in the next pass (passes sold, peak listeners, replay views, geographic distribution). Today's Analytics page surfaces aggregate listener-minutes, peak concurrent, total rooms hosted, new followers. Per-show drilldown is Wave 4 #26 follow-up.+I'm a small venue. Where do I start?
Free tier carries 50 listeners — plenty to test the format. Host a free room, share the link to 5 people, see if sync holds up for your audio. Ready to charge? Email venues@silent-dj.app for white-glove onboard.
